The sun, rain, wind and weather are especially bad for outdoor textiles. The seams are subjected to extreme stress and quickly lose their elasticity and strength under the influence of UV radiation and extreme weather conditions. The functionality of standard sewing threads is reduced by up to 50 percent in the first year with constant outdoor exposure; but the special Gütermann PTFE 30 polytetrafluoroethylene sewing thread shows its strength.
